Success in life has nothing to do with what you gain in life or accomplish for yourself. It's what you do for others.
-- Danny Thomas
Those words apply to many individuals, and one of them was Geri Morgan. Until her untimely death in July 2005, Geri had been involved in UPC since the late 1990s. She served in a number of roles as a representative, as newsletter editor, and as a legislative committee member. As a former teacher, she volunteered at several PVUSD schools and served as PTO president. She was also a sought-after substitute teacher. Towards the end of her life, she decided to change her career path and began to take classes in the ministry of the Methodist Church.
In her memory, UPC established the Geri L. Morgan Volunteer Award to honor a volunteer for his or her outstanding service contributions to a school community. The winner will be honored at the Governing Board meeting and will designate a school group or organization of their choice to receive a $100.00 donation from UPC.
